On October 14th, 2016, the students and teachers of Yew Wah International School of Rizhaocelebrated Founder’s Day with Yew Chung and Yew Wah campusesfrom around the world.

2016年10月14日，日照耀华国际学校的所有的学生和老师与全球耀中与耀华各校区师生一起共同庆祝“楚珩日”。

At YWISRZ, we arranged for the students to participate in many sports related activities throughout the day. Parents were also invited to participate in a “Parents Egg & Spoon” race anda “Three legged ” race. Lots of laughter indicated that everyone enjoyed themselves.

在“楚珩日”，日照耀华国际学校的老师们组织学生们参加了各种运动比赛和相关活动。同时家长也受邀参加了“汤勺托鸡蛋跑”比赛和“绑腿跑”比赛。欢声笑语萦绕操场。

At the end of the day we had a short assembly to award the students “Participation Certificates” and two Special awards to outstanding students. It did not matter who won or fell behind but the fact that students participated and had fun! YWIS staff and helpers received awards for organizing and assisting on Founder’s Day.

最后，我们举办了一个简短的聚会来回顾如此快乐有趣的一天！我们为学生们颁发了参与奖状并特别表彰了两位表现突出的同学。因为他们在参与的过程中不论是赢得了比赛还是在落后的时候，都能积极乐观面对，重点不在于输赢，而是参与其中并享受运动的乐趣！我们也特别表彰和感谢那些为了本次运动会精心筹备和热心支援的职员们。

What is the Founder’s Day in Yew Chung and Yew Wah?

耀中和耀华“楚珩日”的由来

Yew Chung & Yew Wah, founded in 1932 by Madam Tsang Chor-hang, has been provided high quality global bilingual education for more than 80 years. Madam Tsang led the school to survive the tumultuous years of World War II and the uncertainties of the post-War era. By implementing the holistic teaching approach, the school began modestly as a small kindergarten, and gradually expanded into a global network of international schools. In 1980s~1990s, Dr Betty Chan Po-king, Director and Schools Supervisor Yew Chung International Schools (YCIS) and Yew Wah International Education Foundation, and Professor Paul Yip Kwok-wah,Chairman of the Board, set about to bring international education to China.

我们的校长婆婆曾楚珩女士于1932年创办的耀中，提供优质国际双语教育近80年之久。曾女士以全人教育为基本办学原则，从一所小规模学校开始，经历了第二次世界大战与战后艰辛日子的考验，为机构今天融合东西文化精粹的环球教育体系，打下稳固基础。在上世纪80-90年代，耀中国际教育机构校监陈保琼博士及董事局主席叶国华教授，结合开办国际学校并提供全方位教育服务的经验，创办了耀中和耀华两个国际教育系列，热情地把国际教育带到了中国内地。

Hau Cheung Po Pohas become the focal point that unifies all our schools, the symbol of the spirit of Yew Chung / Yew Wah.As a way of expressing gratitude for the contribution shehas made tobring together all Yew Chung / Yew Wah schools, we established “Founder’s Day” as a special annual event to be celebrated within the Yew Chung / Yew Wah educational community on the 2nd Friday of October of every year, while celebrating our 80th anniversary in the academic year of 2012-2013. The event gathered students, staff members, alumni and friends of Yew Chung and Yew Wah to acknowledge the foundation laid by Hau Cheung Po Po for Yew Chung / Yew Wah.

校长婆婆已经成为一个聚焦点，其精神团结了耀中及耀华各校，让我们汇集起来。为了表达对校长婆婆的敬意，我们特于2013-2014学年，庆祝校庆80周年之际，创办了“楚珩日”，并将其定为周年性活动，于每年10月的第二个星期五在耀中及耀华各校举行，让学生、教职员、校友和耀中耀华之友，一同歌颂校长婆婆为耀中耀华的发展奠定了稳固的基石。
